We managed a district wide $10.4 million capital construction project

HMK managed a district wide $10.4 million capital construction project for the Mt. Angel School District. The projects include parking lot revisions at all three schools, a new track at the high school, modernization to the Mt. Angel Middle School and John F. Kennedy High School, and a large cafeteria/ commons area addition at the high school. Additionally, HMK  secured an additional $1.5 million QZAB loan (zero interest loan) for the school district to receive critical upgrades that were not included in the bond projects, including a district office, special education classroom, with quiet room, and complete control upgrade throughout the district. HMK successfully applied for a grant that gave the school district an additional $220,000 to be used for facility upgrades.

"As with most public-school projects, our plans exceeded our budget and construction costs were escalating at alarming rates. I attribute the successful completion of our projects to three factors; 1) HMK listened and had a clear understanding of our district’s needs and values, 2) they were very strategic with assembling bid packages, and 3) David and his staff held contractors accountable. HMK is an expert in the field of public-school facilities, the challenging requirements of working with state, county and local authorities, as well as the many unforeseen situations that are uncovered in aged and dilapidated public buildings."
