Greater Albany Public Schools hired HMK in 2016
to oversee the pre-bond planning process, including project budgeting and project scope verification. Once the bond passed, we were tasked with developing a program plan to manage 300 distinct projects that valued at $179M – with the addition of a very aggressive time frame of spending 85% of the bond funds in 36 months. We provided the District with a team of project professionals to achieve the program goals, and projects are well underway.
Critical Facility Upgrades (CFU)
The Albany community set a high value for keeping the Districts existing facilities Safe – Warm – Dry.
To that end, through the facility planning phase 2015 – 2017, they developed a list of 300 distinct CFU projects that needed to be incorporated into the Bond Plan. These projects include restroom upgrades and water piping replacement, roofing, parking lots and paving, ADA accessibility, Heating and Ventilation, windows, locker rooms upgrades, and seismic upgrades. Projects are being constructed over 4 summers 2017 – 2021.
